What Instagram’s Algorithm Update Means for Your Social Strategy

The format is similar to how Facebook operates and displays its users updates, posts and photos. In fact, Facebook bought Instagram in April 2012 for around $1 billion. But why fix something that wasn’t necessarily broken? According to Instagram, users don’t see up to 70% of their feeds.

Client Services Spotlight: Senior Partner Maria Toshkova

SP Consulting’s network of experienced, innovative thinkers allows our firm to deliver results of the highest quality for clients across a broad spectrum of sectors and industries. In this post, the second in a monthly series, we aim to highlight some of the thoughtful project work led by our senior partners, and the many ways in which SP Consulting has proven itself to be a trusted partner to our clients.

Since 2013, SP Consulting (SP) has been working with the alternative energy group and sustainability institute of a Southwestern U.S. public university. Partnering with the university’s sustainability initiative, one of the largest of its kind in the country, SP was brought aboard and retained to help develop and execute partnership strategies with the U.S. Department of Navy and U.S. Department of Agriculture, as well as companies in the private sector.

Concurrently, SP was tasked with developing a partnership and visibility strategy for the client’s work with the USDA, which has resulted in $3 million in pending proposals and new technology solutions.

Under the leadership of SP Consulting’s Chairman Ken Smith and Senior Partner Maria Toshkova, SP’s work has helped our client become one of a handful of universities to provide research, training, and strategic guidance to the Navy. Over a three-year period, SP’s client will receive a grant of $1.5 million per year to finance the development of multiple education and research programs to help the Navy meet its sustainability goals.

The Fight to Save the Princeton Battlefield

As you read this, bulldozers tear into the Princeton Battlefield, one of our nation’s most historic sites. At this battlefield in 1777, Gen. George Washington staged a daring counterattack to save the American Revolution, which appeared to be lost less than two weeks before. Now this hallowed site is at risk to make way for a faculty housing project by the Institute of Advanced Study (unaffiliated with Princeton University). SP Consulting is proud to work with the Civil War Trust to protect America’s historic battlefields from encroaching development. In his recent column in the Washington Post, George Will comments on Gen. George Washington’s valiant charge at Princeton to turn the tide of the American Revolution and the fight to preserve this battlefield. You can join the charge and save the Princeton Battlefield by joining the thousands who signed a letter requesting the Institute to cease construction.

3 iPhone Camera Tips to Help You Take Better Photos

There is a saying that “the best camera is the one you have with you.” The quote by Chase Jarvis is one that has defined the recent world of mobile photography and videography. With the rise of Instagram, VSCOcam, and other photography and video apps, the shift towards mobile has become inevitable. Many consumers are now ditching their clunkier cameras for the ones right in their pockets, and for good reason.
