Senior Partner Donna Givens possesses a wide range of health and human services subject knowledge and policy understanding and provides strategic direction to public and private sectors. She is adept at developing alliances and marketing plans based on a company’s vision, goals, and core competencies. Ms. Givens combines strong strategic thinking and planning skills with significant marketing and management knowledge. Her clients include consulting firms, information technology integrators, healthcare solutions companies, and a variety of small businesses.
As President of Givens & Associates for over 20 years, she has developed and taught relationship sales courses and coached senior executives on relationship development . She has helped clients assess the feasibility of entry into the healthcare market. She also helps clients identify specific emerging healthcare opportunities.
Formerly Ms. Givens held a senior position in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) where she managed 65 programs and a budget of $27 billion. During her tenure at HHS Ms. Givens developed alliances with other operating divisions within HHS and with other Federal agencies; this enhanced HHS’s ability to achieve program goals and outcomes. She also developed public education campaigns and strategies for building coalitions with health and human services advocacy groups.
Ms. Givens has designed and implemented a wide range of initiatives that involved building coalitions with diverse groups of individuals. She obtained a consensus on healthcare reform among a disparate group of healthcare policy experts. Ms. Givens managed a labor relations campaign that required building consensus between the Teamsters Union and the trucking industry. She also raised the funding for and implemented the campaign that brought the largest sporting event in the world, The World Cup, to the United States.
Ms. Givens is a graduate of Wake Forest University. She lives in Washington, D.C. and Loudoun County, Virginia.
