Jennifer Quermann is an SP Consulting Senior Partner who brings over 25 years of public relations, brand and integrated marketing and promotional experience working with a wide range of clients focusing on behavior change by creating strategic communication programs.

Her work has included major brands such as Visa, Mattel and Levi Strauss, start-up companies such as Quokka Sports, Pulse Entertainment and, commodity boards including the Walnut Marketing Board and California Prune Board, associations such as the Toy Industry Association and International Bottled Water Association, and government agencies including the Department of Defense. Her work has involved major branding campaigns for companies and products and introducing new organizations to the marketplace.

Prior to joining SP Consulting, Ms. Quermann’s work at Fleishman-Hillard included eight years of serving as day-to-day senior counsel to the Department of Defense (DoD) client for the award-winning integrated marketing campaign, “That Guy” (, which aimed to reduce binge drinking among junior enlisted military personnel across all branches of Service. The multi-media, peer-to-peer campaign, solidly based in research and social marketing, included online and offline advertising and promotions, a Website, broadcast elements, a mobile game and site, social media (Facebook, YouTube, video blog), collateral materials and special events.

The DoD initiative involved domestic and international visits to morethan 90 military installations around the world to conduct briefings for the Chain of Command up to the 3-star General rank, as well as presenting to up to 500 at conferences to sell in the campaign. Because the campaign was not DoD mandated, it required sales to top leadership to gain approval to implement. A recent DoD survey revealed that the campaign has made an impact in behavior and has reduced binge drinking among the target audience where the campaign has been implemented. The campaign received 2007 Webby Award in health category, 2007 SABRE Award, 2007 National Government Communicators Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Awards; 2007 Silver Anvil Award of Excellence, 2011 PR Week Awards for Best Public Sector Campaign and Best Use of Research and Measurement, among 13 additional awards.

Ms. Quermann’s expertise involves incorporating digital, social media, partnership development, media relations, events, broadcast and research into highly effective marketing programs to meet her client’s needs. She has worked in international public relations agencies, including Ketchum, Porter-Novelli and Fleishman-Hillard. She also worked on the client side as Director of Public Relations for Ingenio, a technology company in San Francisco.

Ms. Quermann is from the Bay Area in California and graduated with a B.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
