A senior communications consultant with more than 25 years’ experience delivering results for private- and public-sector organizations, Katie Brazel has served clients in a variety of disciplines providing media relations and training, litigation support, corporate reputation and issues management, thought leadership development and executive visibility. Industry specialties include: medical device, pharmaceutical, managed care, health technology, patient advocacy organizations and health systems.
Katie has played integral roles in various aspects of business development, change management, corporate communications and patient education for organizations such as Abbott, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Healthways, RediClinic, Alimera Sciences, BioLab, Philips Healthcare, IBM, Northside Hospital, Greenway Medical Technologies among many others.
For 15 years, Katie served on and ultimately led the FleishmanHillard (FH) Atlanta healthcare practice team, developing robust integrated communications programs that were a strategic blend of traditional, social and paid media. In addition, she managed the intern program with an eye toward mentoring and developing young talent.
Prior to joining FH, Katie served as corporate communications manager for Healthcare.com, a health technology company, where she directed both public and financial relations for the company. In addition, she has served on communications teams at agencies in both Charlotte, NC and Boston, MA where she honed her skills on high tech and health technology brands. She began her career as a print journalist serving as editorial director for a trade publishing house in Boston, guiding the development of four monthly publications geared to the retail and fashion industry.
A Chicago native, she grew up in Louisville, KY, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky with a degree in journalism and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She is an avid Wildcats basketball and Red Sox baseball fan and resides in Marietta, Georgia with her husband, a Yankees fan. They have two sons and two daughters.
