SP Consulting’s Laura Giannatempo has over 18 years of experience in integrated marketing communications, digital and social media marketing, influencer relations strategy, brand building, media relations and content creation with a focus on CPG and food & beverage brands.
Laura was recently a Senior Vice President at Cohn & Wolfe, overseeing the J.M. Smucker Company brand portfolio, including Smucker’s, Jif, Pillsbury, Folgers, Dunkin’ Donuts packaged coffee and Crisco, and the Treasury Wine Estates brand portfolio, including Penfolds and Beringer.
In this role, Laura managed revenues of up to 4 million, was responsible for 12 brands and oversaw staff of up to 20 people. She was the creative lead for fully integrated marketing communications campaigns that incorporated digital and social media marketing and sophisticated influencer relations strategy with more traditional consumer and corporate communications.
Prior to Cohn &Wolfe, Laura was a Senior Managing Director at RF|Binder’s New York office, providing counsel on consumer marketing campaigns and corporate communications programs for clients such as Johnson & Johnson, The Hershey Company, Tupperware Brands, Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto and La Brea Bakery.
Laura has also held editorial positions at Fine Cooking and La Cucina Italiana magazines, where she developed content and packaged feature stories, working closely with world-renowned chefs, food writers and food industry leaders.
Laura is bilingual in Italian and English and has a working knowledge of French and Spanish. She has a professional culinary arts degree from the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in New York and holds a master’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Turin (Italy), as well as a certificate in marketing from U.C. Berkeley.
In 2006, she published her first cookbook, “A Ligurian Kitchen: Recipes and Tales from the Italian Riviera,” which was chosen by Food & Wine magazine as one of the top 25 cookbooks of 2006. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and son.
