Pete Halpin serves as a Senior Partner with SP Consulting providing comprehensive public and governmental affairs services to clients in a variety of industry sectors, including transportation, energy, financial services, healthcare and sports-related enterprises.
Based in Washington DC Pete brings value-added counsel to SP’s corporate and non -profit clients. Prior to joining SP, Pete served in senior management capacities for a number of global public affairs companies including Senior Vice President for Grayling , Senior Vice President for Cassidy and Associates , Vice president of O’Neill and Associates and FH/GPC. He also directed the Washington DC office of the City of Chicago for Mayor Richard M. Daley.
Halpin has provided advocacy at the state, local, federal and international levels for a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from Blue Cross, Blue –Shield, CITGO Oil, Mesirow Financial, to Hispanic Farmers, the United States Olympic Committee , Chicago 2016 , Lincoln Park Zoo and Road Safe America.
Pete served in the Clinton Administration as the director of Congressional Affairs for the office of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Director of External Affairs for the Federal Transit Administration, and as the Managing Director of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.
He has represented numerous major U.S. infrastructure entities including Parsons, ACS (Xerox), Jacobs Engineering and Edwards and Kelsey.
A third generation Chicagoan, Halpin received his BA in political science from Illinois Benedictine College and earned his MSIR from Loyola University’s Institute of Industrial Relations.
