Samantha Edwards is has 20+ years of results-focused experience in strategic communications planning, media relations, partnership development, online strategies, branding, materials development, and executive visibility in the United States, Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Ms. Edwards has worked with domestic and international non-profit organizations, government agencies, and corporations from the health, education, and technology sectors including AARP, the National Institutes
of Health (NIH), TRICARE, Social Security Administration, USDA (SNAP), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, the American Lung Association, the American Red Cross, Department of Homeland Security, and FEMA.
Ms. Edwards launched and managed the NIH’s We Can! campaign to help children maintain a healthy weight. The We Can! campaign included extensive Fortune 500 partnership development, media relations and a parent-focused website. Ms. Edwards’ outreach yielded partnerships with Walmart, Peabody Energy, Health Monitor, Mutual of Omaha, Florida Power & Light, Delphi, Alltel, BET, and others.
Ms. Edwards was the day-to-day project manager for the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) Ticket to Work marketing campaign. Ticket to Work is a program that helps people with disabilities to find employment. Ms. Edwards completed a comprehensive set of branded marketing materials, brought Ticket to Work Employment Conference and Expos to ten cities nationwide, developed the event design and content, and managed corporate participation, media outreach, and Congressional outreach. The campaign won a PRSA Silver Anvil Award in the Special Events category.
Ms. Edwards has worked for various public relations agencies, government committees, and associations, including FleishmanHillard, Ogilvy Public Relations, Brodeur Worldwide, Powell Tate, the Widmeyer Group, the United States House of Representatives’ Committee on Science, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Ms. Edwards is also the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for The Sullivan Alliance to Transform the Health Professions (SA) and a Principal at Darling Communications, a communications and marketing firm based in Arlington, Virginia.
Ms. Edwards earned a Master of Arts degree in Science, Technology and Public Policy from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French literature from Swarthmore College.
